Dear Heartwood Families,
Greetings from the longleaf pines of Heartwood Preserve!
I attended a national land conservation convention last year where people from around the country are working hard to protect natural lands. The emphasis is on community-based land conservation. As I think about our work at Heartwood, I feel a community is growing of people who embrace this special place, natural burial, and the conservation of Florida’s natural landscapes. People who have entrusted us with their loved ones and with themselves upon their own death for a final resting place.
In that spirit, I would like to share an evening with you to talk about the Vision and Mission of Heartwood, to share news of how we are growing, to see how you might like to be more involved in our mission and to listen to questions and ideas you may have. This is the second conversation in this ongoing series I would like to have with Heartwood Families.
Because many of you live far from Heartwood and some are in the area, I would like to hold two evenings, one virtual and one in-person. I hope you can attend the one that works for you.
