Want to be a Heartwood Helper?

 

Join Jonathan Sunday, May 16th at 9 AM to help with Heartwood’s BUTTERFLY GARDEN!

 

 

Volunteers needed to help revamp the Heartwood pollinator garden.

We will briefly discuss the ecological importance of native flowering plants to local pollinators with the hope that this helps inspire attendees to create their own pollinator friendly food sources.

We will provide coffee, a light breakfast and water, but please bring your own water bottle, sunscreen and/or bug spray if you need it.

Ages 5+

Sunday, May 16th, 9 AM – 12:00 PM (or whenever we finish planting all our plants)

Our longleaf pine ecosystem depends on the regular occurrence of fire. We are planning a Prescribed Burn within the next few months.

 Learn about the importance of Prescribed Fire from Laura Starkey, Heartwood’s Executive Director, Land Manager & “Burn Boss”.
