Burial Crew Training Night
Thursday
April 14, 2022
6 PM
Heartwood Preserve’s Burial Crew is a group of very special people who assist with the natural burials that take place at Heartwood Preserve. This is a unique opportunity to help families have a meaningful closure to their loved one’s life.
The Burial Crew primarily helps to carry the deceased from the hearse (or other vehicle) to the grave, set the body over the grave, lower the body by hand (with ropes) into the grave, and finish closing the grave, after the family has participated as much as they want.
The Crew & ‘Helpers’ may also help with other needed tasks like directing parking, greeting, water, set-up & cleanup of burial area.
If this sounds like something YOU
may be interested in doing,
please join our current Crew
& Heartwood staff
for our next Training Night,
Thursday, 4/14 at 6 PM.
Meeting is inside – training will be outdoors.
Pizza & refreshments provided.
YOUR RSVP is very much appreciated!
What we’re about
Death Café is an open group meeting that gathers about every 6-8 weeks-ish, to enjoy refreshments and talk about death. Why? because unfortunately, this topic is uncomfortable and a Death Café can change that.
Topics range from personal stories, grief, rituals, aging, books, advice – to humor! — It is also okay to just come and listen. We are not, however, a support group for people who are actively grieving or in end-of-life planning stages.
Think: table-top-talk….topic? >>> death!
Free to attend
We ask attendees are 17 and older PLEASE!
You MUST RSVP. NO WALK-IN’s!
