This is not grief support. This is an educational seminar to help folks learn the pathway of grief and how to identify the journey for yourself & loved ones. About your host: Janice Paton Janice Paton holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, is certified as a Child Life Specialist/Grief Counselor and has her Masters in Theology. Janice is currently the grief specialist for the Children’s Cancer Center in Tampa where she provides grief support services for family members who have had a child die from cancer. She also worked as a senior grief facilitator for Suncoast Kids Place, which provides grief support to children, teens, and adults. Janice facilitated grief groups for HALOS (Healing After a Loved One’s Suicide) and for Hillsborough/Pasco County schools K-12. Her Clinical Pastoral Education studies also included an internship at Mease Countryside Hospital where she provided spiritual, emotional and grief support to all ages. www.janicepaton.com What will be covered in the Talk: What is Grief and Mourning? Planning ahead and being aware of specific days of the year. (death anniversary, diagnosis, birthdays, holidays, etc.). Specific tasks related to the loss one may want to start or complete. Self-Care Activities to implement. Grief breaks and time for enjoyment and fun. Rituals to remember and honor the person who died.
